Based on the work of Johann Wolfgang Goethe, the “Traité des couleurs” published in 1810, the CEAAC brings together the works of eight contemporary artists for whom colors are not only materials entering into the representation of the world, but a reality in its own right, with its multiple modes of appearance, of manifest purity or magical sophistication. As part of a partnership with the Museums of Strasbourg, which evokes the figure of Goethe through a major exhibition presented at the Palais Rohan, CEAAC designs in a spirit of complementarity, a collective exhibition project that is proposed to reveal the influence of the work of the art theorist on current creation.
