Marie-Pierre Bonniol

Marie-Pierre Bonniol (b. 1978 in Marseilles) is a Berlin-based artist and curator who works internationally. She holds degrees in the visual arts, aesthetics and science of art from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She is also an alumna of the CABS antiquarian books seminar (St. Olaf College, Minnesota, USA).

Her current explorations involve experimental film and video art, amateurship (amatorat), energy, apparatuses of creation and transmission, and the aesthetics of books and collections.

Her practice takes the form of films, photographs, illustrations, installations, texts, conferences, programmes and creations of apparatuses.

Her works and projects have been shown in numerous institutions including the ZKM in Karlsruhe, the Centre Pompidou-Metz, Le Lieu Unique in Nantes, the Anthology Film Archives à New York, the CCCB in Barcelona and the National Library of Argentina in Buenos Aires, at the invitation of Alberto Manguel.
