You are invited to take part in the enactment of On est heureux quand on manifeste, a work by the Hungarian artist Endre Tót. Taking the shape of a demonstration in public space, it was carried out for the first time in West Berlin in 1979, in what was then considered the ‘free world’. This ambivalent performance celebrates protest as much as it pokes fun at its superficial rituals. What kind of action is authorised? In which places is it allowed to be staged? For whom? And to what avail?

In the presence of the artist Endre Tót and in partnership with Musées de la Ville de Strasbourg as part of the exhibition mode d’emploi. Suivre les instructions de l’artiste at MAMCS (curated by Philippe Bettinelli and Anna Millers).
